Weekend on-site Calligraphy Courses at Guanghwa Bookshop will start on 10th May

Hope you are all doing well.

Due to the popularity of art courses, we are pleased to let you know that Guanghwa Bookshop has organised two weekend on-site calligraphy courses at Beginner and Beginner Plus Levels which will start on Saturday 10th May.

There will be two calligraphy classes.
• The first calligraphy class starts from 14:00 pm to 16:00 pm at Beginner Level on how to write Regular script.
• This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as for those who have been learning Mandarin Chinese and are interested in learning more about Chinese calligraphy.

• The second calligraphy class starts at 16:30 pm to 18:30 pm at Beginner Plus Level - How to write Running Script
This course is suitable for those who have done a few sets of calligraphy courses before and would like to continue to learn a different script.

These two courses will run every Saturday for six weeks, with each lesson being two hours. The venue is at the bookshop, and we will provide the materials.

• The cost for each six-week course is £90.
We also do a 'pay as you go' option at £16 each lesson.

• Dates: 10 May, 17 May, 24 May, 31May, 7 Jun, 14 Jun.

• Calligraphy Tutor: Mr. Jian Chu Xu
Mr. Xu started to learn Chinese calligraphy in 1980 under supervision of late calligrapher Mr. Laoyun Yu who was a famous Chinese calligrapher. Mr. Xu is the chairman of the Chinese Poetry Calligraphy & Painting Society of UK, Honorary Principal of the Shifu Art College of China. He received an excellence award in the Chinese calligraphy competition UK in 2011 and a special award in the international Chinese competition in 2014
